Minutes below for the 1st meeting of our 09 adventure.

Apologies – Alun (I’m only 90% certain I’m going to do this so I’ll come up with some crap working lunch excuse for the first meeting) Trueman
Name of Expedition: Chasing Chickens Round Ireland
Reason: To enjoy a high level of laughs and piss taking.

To raise some cash for charity – To be determined, Rob suggests Cancer research, Paul suggests Alzheimer’s (in the spirit of the trip……what trip!!) Al wasn’t there and has subsequently lost his right to vote on anything again

Timing:TBD, we do need to decide on this – Action RW, PH AT for next meeting

Ground Rules: Incomplete and for review
Only Honda C90’s, none of your C50 or C70 shit.
No hotels or hostels
Only use what we can carry in bike boxes, rucksacks etc
So basically were camping, tarping or bivvy bagging.
We can’t replace what we lose break of get stolen, if someone nicks your tent you sleep outside.

Route:Needs to be planned to make sure we can get round in the week.

PH would like to visit the following:Skerries Circuit, Giants Causeway, Tory Island (must meet Patsy Dan, The king of Tory),Galway, enjoy a music session and have a pint in the Spanish Arch Quay Street, Queenstown, Titanic launch site, Wexford, Return to Dublin

Rob Williams suggests getting to Dublin then just deciding to go left or right

AOB:

The Book – PH intends to write this as a book, laptop, voice recorded, note books etc required
The Filum – RW project, to produce a Blair witch / Jackass quality documentary for sale in Hollywood.
The Blog – This will be set up today!! RW, PH and AT will have pass word so they can all make their contributions. Idea is to start the blog now as to keep a good record of all the crap we talk up front in arranging this trip.
PH to contact Honda to see if he can get any cash out of them
PH to contact Road racing Ireland and Irish Road Racer mags to see if they will cover the story
PH to contact (dependant on timing) road race organizers to see if we can do a flying lap at one of the meetings.

Other Actions:
Need to find bikes.
Design logo for T shirts
Are we going to have a celebratory Tattoo eg, a shamrock in tricolour green white and orange with chicken wings and the date
